A SNAP TO REALITY
If life is a journey and if we are the car that rides through this journey, how fast do you think we all are traveling? Yet through the journey of traveling in a road constantly in a path that has a road in front of us, how many of us are still living in the past waiting for the sun to rise or to see that silver lining through the dark times to experience change by looking through the rear mirror?
But did we ever stop to see what we actually lack?
When you wake up in the morning if you can still breathe, if your heart is still beating, if you have good health, good food and your family besides you and a roof to live under what possibly are we to call ‘fulfillment’ and ‘happiness’ otherwise?
We live a life attached to materialistic things and driven by third party views and external forces that direct us to do certain things and live a particular life crafted by them according to social norms and general acceptance and people try to achieve self actualization through these.
Yet have we ever paused to wonder when this rat race to reach the top of the hierarchy and to achieve some undefined happiness will ever end?
If you think for a moment, you don’t have to wait for the world to turn upside down to achieve some happiness all of a sudden. You just need to open your eyes to see vividly of what is around you. While you were getting drifted apart from life the worlds’ beauty did not change for a bit. It’s you who failed to see them and to appreciate them.
“Apparently the world is not a wish granting factory” as its mentioned in ‘Fault in our Stars’ but it’s a wonderful place filled with extraordinary moments and beautiful things. It’s just us who failed to realize it.
So take a break for your own benefit and see what’s around you. when you do you’ll find happiness in small things that happen every day. The birds that chirp in the morning, the coffee that taste perfect, the hair that sets just right, the woof woof of the dog that comes running behind you, the sun that shines through the curtains, the greetings the security does with a smile on their face. These are just few things that happen in about hour from waking up in the morning. Just imagine how many beautiful moments that we might have ignored in that 24 hours given to each and every one of us because we thought we were so busy making money to live. But what we have actually done is live to make money.
We need to stop this now and break free from this vicious cycle before we regret one day for all the things we have missed.
Understand that there are 24 hours a day, meaning there is 1440 minutes a day or 86,400 seconds per day. Don’t take any minute for granted and live life to the fullest. Take yourself of a date, dress nice, treat people politely, have good food, give away good food, make others happy while you make yourself happy and make that call you have been ignoring for months go meet up with your parents do it now do it today because you are going to be YOU just this one time. So embrace every moment you got and know that the clock is ticking and You Only Live Once
